Jury Selection

Jurors are selected by computer randomization from Voter Registration and Illinois Secretary of State Drivers Registration. Jury Service is an opportunity for you to perform an important civil duty, and fulfill a community responsibility, as well as being a rewarding experience. In order to be a juror, it is not expected or necessary that you have any special talent or training in the law. You, as a juror, will sit in judgment of the facts of a case.

Jurors need to report to Courtroom A by 9 am. We ask that you leave your purse/bag in your car. You may bring your cell phones in, but please silence all notifications. Please bring identification. Thank you for your cooperation.

The jurors’ average Court day commences at 9 am and ends at 4 pm with a recess for lunch. The Court does not encourage requests for postponement or excuses.

**WE ASK THAT YOU PHONE OUR AFTER-HOURS NUMBER (AFTER 4 PM) THE DAY BEFORE YOU ARE TO REPORT FOR JURY DUTY TO BE SURE IT IS STILL SCHEDULED. OUR AFTER-HOURS NUMBER IS (618) 498-6128.
